Retail Employee: You're lucky you work in an office. (smiling politely)
Me: Well, it depends on how you look at it...
Retail Employee: How do you usually hire the office boy in your place?
Me: Why? (choosing a selection of ties)
Retail Employee: I'm just curious. It looks really cool to work in an office.
Retail Employee: My contract here is ending tomorrow. I haven't gotten a new job yet. A little bit stressed out now.
Me: Oh... you're not a permanent employee here?
Retail Employee: No one here is. We're all hired based on contracts.
Retail Employee: It's hard to find a decent job. I have a wife and and a son, too. I have to feed them.
Me: ...
Retail Employee: He just turned 8 months recently.
Me: Your expenses nowadays must be pretty high. Milk and baby paraphernalia are expensive...
Retail Employee: You said it.
Me: (pause)
Retail Employee: Don't worry about me, sir. God is fair, I know it. (smiling politely again)
Retail Employee: So, do you want me to steam those ties first to avoid wrinkles? (pointing at the ties I just grabbed)
Me: Oh, these? Yes thank you. And good luck.. with... (watching him taking the ties and walk away)
Splurged a ludicrous amount of dough on clothing items. That’s what you get after a rough day of hunting stupid documents.
