Retail Employee: You're lucky you work in an office. (smiling politely)
Me: Well, it depends on how you look at it...
Retail Employee: How do you usually hire the office boy in your place?
Me: Why? (choosing a selection of ties)
Retail Employee: I'm just curious. It looks really cool to work in an office.
Retail Employee: My contract here is ending tomorrow. I haven't gotten a new job yet. A little bit stressed out now.
Me: Oh... you're not a permanent employee here?
Retail Employee: No one here is. We're all hired based on contracts.
Retail Employee: It's hard to find a decent job. I have a wife and and a son, too. I have to feed them.
Me: ...
Retail Employee: He just turned 8 months recently.
Me: Your expenses nowadays must be pretty high. Milk and baby paraphernalia are expensive...
Retail Employee: You said it.
Me: (pause)
Retail Employee: Don't worry about me, sir. God is fair, I know it. (smiling politely again)
Retail Employee: So, do you want me to steam those ties first to avoid wrinkles? (pointing at the ties I just grabbed)
Me: Oh, these? Yes thank you. And good luck.. with... (watching him taking the ties and walk away)

Leopard is the New Vista, and It's Pissing Me Off... →
dude’s got a lot of anger…a fun read (even for Apple fans). “Apple marketing has the swinging pair of crabapples to actually print “Leopard Just Works” on its Web site. Hey, at least Microsoft reps have the decency to look a little abashed when you point out their product’s screwups.” (via Digg) :: Was thinking of upgrading my Tiger to Leopard today, but...

Depending on how fast Google spends its money, its investment could rival the federal government’s investment in renewable energy. How a Computer for the Poor Got Stomped by Tech... →
From its inception, One Laptop Per Child posed a threat to the personal-computing dominance of software giant Microsoft and chip maker Intel. The team (drawn from MIT) designed a machine that didn’t use Windows or Intel chips. It uses the Linux operating system and other nonproprietary, open-source software, which users are allowed to tinker with..
